Homecoming Tailgate Recap

Updated: Oct 29, 2024

Our Tailgate Leadership Team

The sun was out, the fans were all around us.... it was Homecoming 2024! With over 250 RSVP's for our Homecoming Tailgate, it was a busy day for all of our volunteers and sponsors.

A big SEC showdown

On Friday night, there was a big pep rally on the steps of the Amelia Gorgas Library followed by the naming of the Homecoming Queen. A big crowd was on hand to see the bonfire and fantastic drone show over the stadium.

The drone show was a first.

Even the Mizzou fans stopped by for a taste of Dayton's finest beers (our featured brew).

Tailgate thieves! Roll Tide!

Boone County grad and Alabama great Shaun Alexander was the grand marshal of the Homecoming parade.

Here are a few photos from Homecoming and the tailgate:

It was great to see so many alumni come back to campus for Homecoming. Many of them dropped by the tent for a reunion.

The couch potatoes enjoyed watching the early games, and corn hole was set up. The parade went right by the tailgate and Lou was in the parade on the National Alumni Association entry.

There are many volunteers to thank that make our tailgate such a success. Too many to name. However, they know who they are! A big thank you to our Homecoming tailgate sponors:

Thank you Jim Waltman and colleagues!

Here's a recap of the game:
